First of all you need check the bottle if empty.

This may seem obvious, but sometimes people don’t realize they have a problem until the whole bottle soap supply is used up. If you find that there is not enough hand sanitizer of disinfectant left in the bottle, then you need refill. The easiest way to do this is to remove the top cap and pour some water into the bottle. This will help determine if the bottle itself is damaged. If the water does not flow easily, change the bottle immediately. You may also need to replace the filter if it is clogged.

Then check whether the pump is clogged or damaged.

This can also happen with dried or solidified soap and prevents the hand sanitizer dispenser from working.

Not frequent use the dispenser or the sanitizer quality is not good are main causes of clogging. When the soap keep in the pump for a long time, the pump is not easy to pump out.

Distilled water helps disintegrate the concentration of soap. If it is caused by frequent use, flush the pump with warm water.

You can use a toothpick to remove soap and lotion that has built up at the outlet.

Another situation is that the pump is damaged, such as a broken spring inside. The first thing need to check the sensor. The sensor area may be blocked by soap or disinfectant residue. Clean the area to remove any visible sanitizer residue and test the automatic soap dispenser if resume work.

Another simple and common reason is that the battery is run out or the battery is not installed properly. It is important to equip each automatic soap dispenser with visual low battery level display or alerts. The amount of soap or sanitizer released can also be affected if the nozzle is blocked. Some liquid soaps and disinfectants may slowly dry out and clog the nozzle or spout, especially the automatic sanitizer dispenser is not frequent used. So you need check the pump if blocked or not.

To clear a clogged nozzle, first turn off the power switch on the base of the dispenser or take the battery out. Then open the lid and pour out any remaining liquid soap or sanitizer. Next, put some warm water into the bottle. Wait 10 seconds, then close the lid again. Repeat this process a few times until all the soap residue comes out. Finally, test the dispenser to work several times until the nozzle resume work.

Finally, the lighting in the area where the dispenser is installed can affect how the sensor reacts to the hands. If the lighting in the area where the dispenser is placed has recently changed, try moving the dispenser or test with different lighting.

How to clean the sensor

Use only warm water. Do not use dishwashing detergent as these products may damage the sensor. Use a soft cloth dampened with a mild soap. Before cleaning the sensor, make sure the area around the sensor is dry. Wipe off excess soap with a paper towel.

Sensors can stop working for a variety of reasons, including:

Sensor failure – clean the sensor area, make sure the sensor is well worked.

Low battery – replace with new battery

Damaged circuit board – replace defective unit.

Connection error – reconnect wire connector.

Bad Contact – Wipe off dirt around the contacts.

Dirty sensor surface – Clean the sensor with a cotton swab moistened with alcohol.

2.How to Stop The Automatic Soap Dispenser from Leaking

It is very bad experience if your automatic hand sanitizer dispenser is dripping frequently, there may be a problem with the way the cartridges or refills bottles are inserted. Remove the cartridges and reinsert it. If continues to leak, you will need to insert a new replacement cartridge.
